Our supplier has advised the following method for connecting two units.
- Take one GEC5 as the major unit, set it to automatically transmit its program number on Channel 16 (manual Section 9- initialization, article 7, turn "AU" on) by pressing each preset footswitch.
- The other GEC5 will be used as the secondary unit, set its midi working channel to 16, then set the "midi thru" ON (section 9, article 4).
- Connect the midi cable from the major unit's "midi out" port to the secondary unit's "midi in" port.
- Connect the Midi out of the secondary unit to other midi devices you wish to use
The working principle is that the major unit recalls the same number of program in the secondary unit, and the secondary unit passes through the midi messages to the external devices you have connected. Be aware that only the major unit has total control over all the other connected devices.
